It is contraindicated in patients with certain cardiovascular or fibrotic histories and requires specific monitoring during treatment.

Description
Dosage and Administration

Initiate with 0.25 mg orally twice weekly.

Titrate incrementally by 0.25 mg twice weekly at intervals no less than 4 weeks to achieve normal serum prolactin levels.

Maximum recommended dose: 1 mg twice weekly.

Administer with or without food.

Evaluate cardiac valvular status via echocardiogram prior to initiation.
