Calcium Trisodium Glutamate Injection (Ditripentat-HeylAmp.) is a metal chelating agent, mainly used for the treatment of internal contamination by radioactive elements.

Indications of Calcium Trisodium Glutamate Injection (Ditripentat-HeylAmp.)

Core Therapeutic Scope

Radioactive Element Contamination: For patients with known or suspected internal contamination by plutonium, americium, or curium; it accelerates the urinary excretion of radioactive elements through chelation.

Emergency Treatment: The injection should be administered as soon as possible within 24 hours after contamination, as this is when the chelating effect is optimal. If treatment is delayed, the efficacy may decrease because radioactive elements have deposited in the bones or liver.

Pharmacological Actions

Ca-DTPA forms stable chelates with radioactive elements (such as plutonium and americium) through the displacement of calcium ions, and these chelates are excreted from the body via the kidneys into the urine.

Its chelating ability is strongest in the early stage of contamination (when radioactive elements are in the circulatory system or tissue interstitium).

Specification and Properties of Calcium Trisodium Glutamate Injection (Ditripentat-HeylAmp.)

Dosage Form and Composition

Dosage Form: A sterile, pyrogen-free, clear and colorless solution, packaged in 5mL colorless ampoules.

Concentration: Each 1mL contains 200mg of calcium trisodium glutamate (equivalent to 1000mg per 5mL ampoule).

Osmotic Pressure: Hypertonic solution (1260mOsmol/kg) with a pH value of 7.3-8.3.

Physical Properties

Appearance: A clear solution when standing, with no visible particles or precipitates (to be checked before use).

Excipients: Contains sodium hydroxide (for pH adjustment), and the solvent is Water for Injection (conforming to USP standards).

Usage Method

Intravenous Administration: Recommended route; the solution can be administered by direct slow intravenous push (over 3-4 minutes) or infused after dilution in 100-250mL of 5% glucose injection/normal saline.

Inhalation Administration: Only applicable for inhalational contamination within 24 hours; the solution must be diluted at a 1:1 ratio before being administered via nebulization for inhalation.

Storage Method of Calcium Trisodium Glutamate Injection (Ditripentat-HeylAmp.)

Environmental Requirements

Temperature: Store at 15-30°C (59-86°F); avoid freezing or exposure to high temperatures.

Light Protection: Keep in the original packaging to prevent direct light exposure.

Shelf Life and Packaging

Unopened: Ampoules remain stable within the labeled shelf life.

After Opening: For single use only; any remaining solution must be discarded.
