Proper storage of Hydroxyzine Hydrochloride Tablets is a fundamental step to ensure drug quality and therapeutic efficacy. This article provides clear and practical preservation guidance for patients from three aspects: storage environment requirements, original packaging protection, and daily use precautions.

I. Storage Environment Requirements

1. Control Storage Temperature

(1) The drug should be stored at room temperature, with the temperature range maintained between 20°C and 25°C.

(2) Brief excursions between 15°C and 30°C are permitted, but prolonged deviation from the recommended temperature should be avoided. Do not refrigerate or freeze.

2. Keep Dry and Protect from Moisture

(1) The drug is sensitive to moisture and should be stored in a dry environment, away from damp areas such as bathrooms and kitchens.

(2) Bathroom cabinets or areas near sinks are not suitable for storage.

3. Avoid Direct Sunlight

The drug should be kept away from light and should not be placed on windowsills, balconies, or other locations exposed to direct sunlight, as light exposure may affect drug stability.

II. Original Packaging Protection Measures

1. Keep the Original Container

(1) The drug should always be stored in the original manufacturer's container and should not be transferred to other containers.

(2) The original container is designed to effectively block light and moisture, providing optimal protection.

2. Do Not Remove the Desiccant

(1) The bottle contains a silica gel desiccant packet, which functions to absorb excess moisture inside the bottle.

(2) After opening, keep the desiccant in the original bottle and do not discard it.

3. Close Tightly Immediately After Use

After each dose, immediately tighten the cap to prevent moisture from entering the bottle and shortening the effective storage period of the drug.

III. Daily Use Precautions

1. Keep Hands Dry When Taking Medication

Ensure your hands are completely dry before handling the tablets. Wet hands may introduce moisture onto the tablets or the inner wall of the bottle, affecting the quality of the remaining drug.

2. Carry Reasonably When Traveling

(1) For short trips, you may carry the required amount of medication. Upon arrival, store it under room temperature and dry conditions.

(2) Avoid leaving the drug in a closed parked car, as summer temperatures inside the vehicle may far exceed the recommended range.

3. Keep Out of Reach of Children

The drug should be stored in a location inaccessible to children, and the original container with a child-resistant cap should be used to prevent accidental ingestion.

4. Regularly Check the Appearance of the Drug

If you notice significant color changes, unusual odor, or softening due to moisture, discontinue use and consult a pharmacist. Do not continue taking the drug.

5. Pay Attention to Expiry Date Management

Each time you take the drug, note the expiration date printed on the bottle. Expired drugs should be promptly disposed of and should not be consumed.
