Acofide has shown good safety in clinical trials, but some users may still experience adverse reactions.

I. What are the side effects of Acofide?

1. Common side effects (incidence ≥1%)

According to Japanese Phase III clinical trial data, side effects with an incidence ≥1% in patients taking Acofide (300 mg daily for 4 weeks) mainly include:

(1) Digestive system: diarrhea, constipation.

(2) Liver-related: elevated ALT (1.8%), elevated AST.

(3) Endocrine/metabolic: elevated blood prolactin (3.6%), elevated blood triglycerides.

(4) In this trial, the overall incidence of adverse reactions in the drug group was 16.9% (76/450 cases), similar to the 18.1% in the placebo group, indicating that most adverse reactions were mild to moderate.

2. Less common side effects (incidence 0.5%~1%)

(1) Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain.

(2) Stomatitis.

(3) Elevated γ-GTP.

3. Rare side effects (incidence<0.5% or frequency unknown)

(1) Allergic reactions: rash, urticaria.

(2) Blood system: increased white blood cell count.

(3) Nervous system: dizziness.

(4) Liver: elevated blood bilirubin, elevated blood alkaline phosphatase (ALP).

II. Ways to relieve side effects of Acofide

1. Management of diarrhea and constipation

(1) Mild diarrhea: Ensure adequate fluid intake to avoid dehydration. Adjust diet by choosing easily digestible foods (e.g., rice porridge, bananas). If it persists for more than 3 days, consult a doctor.

(2) Constipation: Increase dietary fiber intake (vegetables, fruits, whole grains), drink plenty of water, and exercise appropriately. If symptoms are significant, use mild laxatives under medical guidance.

2. Management of abnormal liver function

Regular monitoring of liver function (ALT, AST, γ-GTP, etc.) is recommended during treatment. If significant elevation occurs:

(1) Seek medical evaluation promptly, and suspend medication if necessary.

(2) Avoid alcohol consumption or using other potentially hepatotoxic drugs.

3. Elevated blood prolactin

(1) This side effect is usually asymptomatic and detected only by laboratory tests.

(2) If symptoms such as breast tenderness, galactorrhea, or menstrual irregularities occur, inform your doctor.

(3) It is generally reversible after discontinuation and requires no specific treatment.

4. Allergic reactions

If rash, urticaria, pruritus, or other allergic manifestations occur, stop the drug immediately and seek medical attention. Antihistamines may be used if necessary.

5. General principles

(1) Most side effects are mild to moderate and tolerable for most patients.

(2) If side effects persist or worsen, discontinue the drug and consult a doctor.

III. Storage conditions for Acofide

1. Basic storage requirements

(1) After opening the PTP package: Store away from moisture, i.e., keep in a dry place, avoid humid environments.

(2) Unopened PTP package: Can be stored at room temperature, avoid high temperature and direct sunlight.

2. Specific operational recommendations

(1) Do not store in humid places such as bathrooms or kitchens.

(2) Avoid storing in high-temperature environments like inside a car during summer.

(3) Keep out of reach of children.
