Estradiol Tablets (Julina) play an important role in improving menopausal symptoms, preventing osteoporosis, and assisted reproductive therapy.

I. Proper Storage of Estradiol Tablets

Store at room temperature, away from high temperature and humidity

(1) Estradiol Tablets should be stored at room temperature (generally 1–30°C), protected from direct sunlight, high temperature and humidity.

(2) Do not store medicines in humid areas such as bathrooms or kitchens.

Keep in original packaging to prevent accidental ingestion

(1) The medicine should remain in its original PTP packaging until just before use.

(2) Do not remove tablets in advance or place them in other containers, to avoid moisture damage or accidental intake.

Keep out of reach of children

All medicines should be stored where children cannot access them, to prevent accidental ingestion and accidents.

Check expiry date; do not use expired medicine

Inspect the expiry date on the package before use. Discontinue expired medicines and hand them over to professional facilities for disposal; do not discard them casually.

II. Dietary Advice for Patients Taking Estradiol Tablets

Increase calcium intake to protect bones

Estradiol is often used to prevent osteoporosis. Patients should take an appropriate amount of calcium-rich foods, such as milk, yogurt, soy products, dried small fish, dark green vegetables, etc., to help maintain bone mineral density.

Supplement vitamin D to promote calcium absorption

Vitamin D aids calcium absorption. Moderate sun exposure or consumption of vitamin D-rich foods (e.g., egg yolks, liver, salmon) is recommended.

Control fat and sugar to maintain a healthy weight

During hormone therapy, some patients may experience weight gain or elevated blood lipids. A light diet is recommended, with reduced intake of fried foods, sweets and high-fat meats.

Increase dietary fiber to prevent constipation

Some patients may experience bloating or constipation after taking the medicine. Eating more fiber-rich foods such as vegetables, fruits and whole grains can promote intestinal peristalsis.

Limit caffeine and alcohol

Caffeine and alcohol may worsen menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes and insomnia. Moderate control is recommended to avoid affecting therapeutic effects.

III. Management of Missed and Overdoses

Missed dose: take as soon as possible, do not double the dose

(1) If the dose is missed within 12 hours, take the missed dose as soon as possible.

(2) If more than 12 hours have passed, skip the missed dose and take the next one as scheduled. Do not take a double dose at one time.

(3) Long-term missed doses may reduce efficacy. Setting daily reminders or using a pill box is recommended.

Overdose: seek medical evaluation immediately

(1) If more than the prescribed dose is accidentally taken, stop taking the medicine immediately and consult a doctor or pharmacist.

(2) Overdose may cause adverse reactions such as nausea, headache, vaginal bleeding, etc. Medical observation may be required in severe cases.

Special population reminders

(1) Strict and timely dosing is especially critical for patients using estradiol for assisted reproductive therapy. Missed doses may affect endometrial preparation or ovulation cycles.

(2) If multiple doses are missed or you are unsure how to proceed, contact your attending doctor promptly and do not adjust the dose on your own.

Note: For internal discussion among medical personnel only. For specific medication, please consult the attending physician. Drug information may change over time. For the latest information, we recommend adding a medical consultant or consulting for free online.
